Realism Tattoos: Bold, Readable, Lasting
Black and grey realism is my core discipline. Wildlife, mythology, custom concepts—I build bold, readable compositions that hold up over time. No color, no gimmicks. Just high-quality photorealistic work in a private Chapeltown studio.
The Realism Approach
Realism tattoos are not about copying a photo pixel-for-pixel. They are about creating a composition that reads clearly from a distance, flows with the body, and ages well. I focus on strong focal points, clean gradients, and a limited palette of black and grey.
My work spans wildlife, Greek mythology, horror, custom concepts, and more. The common thread: bold, readable designs that I can execute with precision. I do not do color or watercolor. This specialisation allows me to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Session length depends on scale and complexity. A simple A5 piece might fit a 3-hour minimum. Larger work—half sleeves, thigh panels, back pieces—requires full-day sittings or multiple sessions. Want a full sleeve in one day? See single-sitting sleeves.
What Works Best for Realism
“I'd like a wolf head on my outer bicep, realistic style, about 6 inches. Something fierce and detailed.”
Why this works: A clear subject, defined placement, and realistic style. I can design and execute a striking piece within a standard or full-day session.
“I want this exact tattoo from Pinterest—full color, 40 hours of work—but in 4 hours and black and grey.”
Why this fails: I do not copy other artists' work. I do not do color. And I will not rush a complex piece into an unrealistic timeframe. Check my portfolio—what you see is what I deliver.
